Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has ordered the National Police Service (NPS) to launch a nationwide crackdown on all unroadworthy Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) ahead of the festive season.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 15, the Interior CS ordered the officers to ensure that all the PSVs on the road have the registered name of the Sacco, company, or even institution before ferrying passengers.
According to Mudavadi, the vehicles must also have inspection status, operate from their licensed routes, and have a valid Road Service Licence.
“I hereby instruct all traffic police officers to ensure that all PSVs are roadworthy and are driven safely. They must ensure that all the PSVs on the road have the registered name of the Sacco, company, or institution,” the CS ordered.
