Tujibebe Wakenya party leader William Kabogo has revealed intricate details of his meetings with President Uhuru Kenyatta that saw him branded a mole within the Kenya Kwanza camp.
Speaking to KTN News on Wednesday, June 22, Kabogo refuted claims that he was working for Azimio, noting that he would reconsider various options before joining another coalition.
He pointed out that his talks with Uhuru revolved around his political future as well as recalling the 2017 Jubilee party nominations when he was edged out in favour of impeached Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu.

File Kabogo alluded that the Head of State pointed fingers at his deputy, William Ruto, who was in charge of the nominations. However, while holding conversations with Ruto, the DP alleged that he acted under instructions from President Kenyatta.
The former governor also addressed the deepening cracks within Kenya Kwanza, noting that their agreement was not put into writing.
Kabogo revealed that his reason for backing Ruto was based on the promise that the subsequent government counties would be allocated additional funds based on population hence making Kiambu get the second-largest share of the budget.
He, however, noted that the deals relied on a verbal agreement with Ruto with the party principals yet to put pen to paper.
“I only joined Kenya Kwanza because DP Ruto agreed with me on my proposal that additional revenue allocation to counties should be based on population and that it would be put into writing.”
“The agreement was a general one awaiting specifics to be put into the agreement which unfortunately until now has not happened,” he noted.
Kabogo pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza principals are yet to respond to the letter drafted by his party alongside Chama Cha Kazi leader, Moses Kuria where they outlined their grievances.
The two leaders have accused Ruto’s UDA of bullying partner-parties in Kenya Kwanza, arguing that the strategy had significantly dented the coalition’s popularity especially in the Mt Kenya region.
“It is imperative that we live with not only the letter but also the spirit of the Kenya Kwanza alliance. Otherwise, it will be tantamount to politics of conmanship and deceit. We will be raising these concerns with our alliance principals as provided for in the alliance instruments,” Kuria previously stated.
