Wiper Democratic Movement Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka visited former Governor Mike Sonko at the Gigiri Police Station.
Kalonzo was accompanied by Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambui, Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo and Ben Mulwa.
The visit came just days after OCPD Julius Kiragu banned politicians from visiting Sonko stating that only members of his nuclear family, his lawyers and doctors would be allowed to visit.

File Kalonzo on Thursday, February 4, appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive Sonko.
“Mheshimiwa Rais, naomba uniskize, kijana wetu Mbuvi Sonko, nakuomba uniachie huyo kijana amekutusi sana. Kwa niaba ya wale ambao wana majina, wanaona ni kijana yetu tunaomba msamaha. Akimaliza hizi episodes, we will still mentor him. Usiyashikilie hayo maneno. (I appeal to you President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive our brother Mike Sonko despite the insults he has directed at you on numerous occasions. On behalf of everyone, we ask for forgiveness. Once he’s done with these episodes, we will still mentor him. Don’t hold a grudge against him),” pleaded Kalonzo.
The Wiper leader further urged other leaders to refrain from making comments that may propagate violence and instead set good examples.
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko
Facebook Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, said Sonko had been made to believe he could get away with his dramatic life as a leader.
“I think he was misled to think that he can get away with anything because he’s been behaving the same way. He’s been doing the same things. He has been talking the same way for a period of time and he’s been rewarded not only by the state but also been rewarded by the voters,” he stated.
Sonko is facing a number of charges from robbery with violence, assault, terrorism among others.
