Kiambu gubernatorial candidate, Moses Kuria, on Saturday, July 30, claimed that his life was in danger.
Kuria, in an open letter to the inspector general of police (IG) Hillary Mutyambai, alleged that the threats were instigated by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He further accused Uhuru of conspiring to frustrate his political ambitions claiming that IG Mutyambai was being used to facilitate his opponents in the Kiambu gubernatorial race.
“Dear IG Mutyambai, while your boss Uhuru is busy threatening my life, you are providing police in three land rovers under the command of an OCS to my competitor UDA’s Kimani Wamatangi in all his meetings.

Moses Kuria “Not even the governor is getting this level of security. Treat us equally and more so those whose lives are in danger,” he claimed.
His sentiments come barely a day after Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro alleged that an insider from State House had leaked information that the president organized a meeting to strategise frustrating (Ndindi Nyoro), Moses Kuria, and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa.
Nyoro stated that the meeting was reportedly held in State House Nakuru where the plan to target Ruto’s close allies was hatched.
“I want to tell the President that we have been informed that you are planning to harm Deputy President William Ruto. The president is planning to target Moses Kuria, Ndindi Nyoro and Kimani Ichung’wa,” the vocal MP protested.
DP Ruto made similar allegations at a campaign rally in Nandi, on Friday, July 29, when he claimed that the President was targeting his children after their row escalated.
He urged Uhuru to campaign for his preferred candidate, Raila Odinga and prepare to retire peacefully.
“I want to ask the President not to be the source of threats in Kenya. Stop threatening us. Your work is to ensure that all Kenyans are safe. Stop telling us that we will know that you are President. We are not people who can be threatened. We are the ones who elected you,” the DP stated.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and IG Hillary Mutyambai have not yet responded to DP Ruto and his allies’ claims.
