Police have launched a probe into the security lapses at the country’s iconic events venue, following a reported case of suicide on Friday, November 8.
Police say the woman died after she jumped from one of the top floors of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
According to a police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the officers from the Parliament Police Station recovered a badly dismembered body of the unknown female, found lying on the second floor of the KICC building adjacent to the amphitheater.
The report indicates that police officers who arrived at the scene identified the body as that of an unknown female aged around 18 years old. Police say that preliminary investigations have determined that the woman might have committed suicide by jumping from one of the top floors of the building.

Despite the police withholding the name of the woman, online reports indicate that the woman identified her as an online tweep named Lucy, who uses the handle @seasonedbricks. Information online shows that Lucy had posted a cryptic message on her X page before taking the drastic action.
“Today has to be a good day. Nishachoka na hii November yenu (I am already tired of November),” her alleged post read.
After posting the message, she accompanied a relative of hers to KICC and went up to the 14th floor where she is said to have jumped off from a window on the same floor.
Investigations by the police are also seeking to ascertain how she gained access to the window seeing as the building hosts offices on that floor.
This incident comes just two days after another woman jumped off the 19th floor of the View Park Towers in Nairobi on Wednesday.
