It has been the norm of most politicians’ children to continue the legacy and follow in their parents’ footsteps, but this trend appears to be dying a slow death. However, he recently made headlines after he was arrested and locked up at Gigiri police station for allegedly dealing in 40,000 litres of fuel which did not meet the Kenya Bureau of Standards specifications. The two-year-long protracted battle ended in December 2020 when the case was thrown out. Ronald KideroFile Ngina KenyattaPresident Uhuru Kenyatta’s daughter Ngina Kenyatta tends to shy away from the limelight, keeping her life low-key, while preferring to grace private and public events on a few occasions.The Head of State’s daughter serves as a director at The Kenyatta Trust, which educates disadvantaged youth in academics, moral, spiritual, social, economic, and life skills through the provision of financial aid, in the form of continued scholarships and mentorship.Uhuru Kenyatta’s sister Nyokabi Kenyatta Muthama also serves as a director in the organisation. He is the son of former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka. Reports indicate that he set up his own studio dubbed Heart Beats Studios and hired famous music group, Camp Mulla’s former producer, Kanyeria to work with him at the studio. Klein KalonzoFile Nick RutoNick Ruto, the eldest son of Deputy President William Ruto, ventured into the legal profession, opting out of the political arena. The flamboyant lawyer was admitted to the bar by former Chief Justice David Maraga over a year ago.Not much is known about Nick, although reports previously had emerged about his interest in following in his father’s footsteps, and may throw his hat in the ring ahead of the 2022 General elections. She veered off the ‘family business’ and opted for agriculture. In past interviews, she noted that her inspiration to begin snail farming came during a tour of Nigeria where she met former Nigerian president Olesegun Obasanjo, who is one of the biggest snail farmers in the country. Upon returning back to the country, she embarked on intense research and constructed a greenhouse in her 25-acre farm in Kiserian.Beginning with only 13 snails in 2017, Rosemary currently has over 3,000 snails and is able to ship them to high-end hotels where her main clients consist of expatriates and Kenyans of foreign origin.
