A popular Westlands eatery has confirmed police are investigating a mysterious death that occurred at the joint earlier this month.
In a statement issued on Friday, December 13, the joint revealed that its security team and police are probing the matter.
This stems from CCTV footage that emerged online on Thursday, showing a man said to be a casual worker dead in an elevator at the joint.
According to reports, the worker was found dead in the premises on the morning of Thursday, December 5.

Media reports indicate the young man died in the early hours of the fateful morning. The cause of death remains unclear nearly eight days later.
The matter is said to have been reported at the Parklands Police Station. However, there is growing apprehension over the progress of the investigations into the death.
In its statement, the management of the joint acknowledged that the incident occurred, insisting that the matter is being “treated with the utmost seriousness.”
“The police and our security team are closely collaborating to investigate the situation, and we remain fully supportive of their efforts to ensure a thorough and fair inquiry,” reads part of the statement from the management of the eatery.
The joint called upon the public to refrain from spreading false information and speculation. “We kindly urge everyone to respect the deceased and their family by refraining from sharing images or information related to the incident. Such actions are deeply insensitive and only add to the grief of those affected,” they asserted.
Adding, “It is vital that we allow them the space to conduct their investigation without speculation or interference.”
Police are yet to issue any statements on the progress of the investigations.
In the first three quarters of 2024, a total of 339 murders were reported, which is a slight increase compared to 336 murders in 2023 and 341 in 2022.
However, the country is grappling with a growing concern over violence, including family-related homicides, gender-based violence, and targeted killings across various regions.
