The Reverend of St Paul’s Mother Church in Kabete, the Venerable Richard Kamau, has detailed how he was invited to State House to plot against Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking at the Sanctuary attended by the DP on Sunday, June 5, the Reverend noted that he was approached by the Kiambu County clergy for advice.
He noted that he was asked to get the team to the State House with the understanding that a deal was to be made on how to counter Ruto’s presidential campaign.
He was, however, opposed to the state of affairs noting that what he saw was some individuals trying to save face. He noted that a last-minute rush to seek the glory of God would not work.

DPPS “Recently, the Bishop asked me to give pieces of advice to a person who had been sent to the Kiambu County Clergy Forum. I was asked to get the clergy to the State House, When I asked why I was told that it was because he had been in the church a lot longer and that we should look for a way to deal with him (Ruto).
“Because he had been sent to me by the Bishop for advice, I knew that it could not be reversed. Those who had not discovered the glory of God early enough are struggling at the last minute. That is not possible. Do not be lied to,” stated Kamau without naming anyone.
He further argued that the team was persistent for him to head to the State House but he turned them down.
“When I told them it was not possible, they asked me when I was going to State House. I asked them what we were going to do, we already finished that.
“Let me tell you now with the Deputy President here, if you want to go to State House, wait for August 9 and go with them,” he added.
The clergyman also recounted a time when he visited the DP at his Karen home and the politician confided in him that he had plans to carry out evangelistic work should he fail to win the Presidency.
While at the event, Ruto assured the church that no single establishment would be shut down under his leadership while promising to increase revenues for the poor Kenyans he has since christened ‘hustlers’.
“The Bottom-Up Economic Model is God’s will since he will lift up the downtrodden to the seats on the high table with Kenyans, we look forward to having every Kenyan uplifted when we get to power in August,” he noted.
