The community of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is in grief after the ultimate death of their own Mr. Rashiid Nturagye.
Nturagye was killed in the wee hours of today along Ibanda Mbarara highway and his body dumped in a swamp.
According to passers-by, the deceased was found naked with wounds, his whereabouts such as his Identity card and an old passport thrown meters away.
The Identity card showed that he was a student at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) where he was pursuing a bachelor of medicine and surgery.
‘’On my way to Ibanda a few minutes ago, along Ibanda – Mbarara Road, before Nyabuhikye TC, we met people gathering around a crime scene. Someone was killed and dropped into a water stream just below the road. Our Taxi stopped and we joined onlookers. The body I saw is indeed brown, naked, facing upside down so the face was hidden. When we went back to the road, a big rid/stone was on the tarmac, next to Rashid’s Mbarara University ID, and closed Passport book on reading the details of the ID, I saw Nturagye Rashid,’’ a friend of the deceased narrated.
‘’I know Rashid because when I was at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, serving as a Guild Prime Minister, Nutragye was a student in the Faculty of Medicine, while I was contesting for Guild Presidency, he was a voter I counted on,’’ he added on.
Our reporter contacted the university administration of MUST, and it was confirmed this was their student who joined the institution in 2017.
It should be noted that he had completed his final examinations for the award of the Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery and he was expecting to be amongst the graduands of the forthcoming university graduation.
