Suspicious Consignment at JKIA Prompts Detectives to Act – Kenyans.co.ke Skip to main content Police officers at JKIA, NairobiFileDCI Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) seized two suspicious consignments at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Tuesday, January 12.According to a statement by the investigative body, the consignment contained prohibited drugs Cocaine and Methamphetamine.The first consignment, which was destined for Australia from Zambia, had been described as books. The officers however found a white powdery substance which on being tested turned to be Cocaine.”Both consignments were seized pending further investigations,” reads the statement by DCI.The detectives have sought interpol interventions to track down the traffickers and bring them to book.The incident came a month after detectives arrested two Lithuanian nationals at the airport who were found with heroin valued at Sh4 million.The two kilograms of heroin was confiscated from their travel bags during a procedural search on travelers’ belongings.They had concealed the heroin at a false bottom of their suitcases.
