KAMPALA– The Ministry of Health has announced that it has registered 248 positive Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours which has brought the total cumulative cases to 33,811.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry today evening, 3 people were also registered to have died due to Coronavirus.
The statement indicated 123 were registered in Kampala followed by Wakiso with 22 cases, Mukono with 18 cases , Luwero with 17 cases and Mbarara district which registered 10 cases.
It’s also reported that Jinja district registered 8 cases while Masindi, Isingiro, Kakumiro and Kiboga registered 4 cases and Soroti, Arua, Buvuma, Tororo, and Moroto districts registered 3 cases.
Buikwe, Ibanda, and Iganga districts registered 2 cases while Nakasongola, Lyantonde, Kayunga, Gulu, Pader, Buyende, Gomba, Katakwi, Kabale and Hoima districts registered 1 Coronavirus case.
The same statement from the Ministry of Health also indicated that 1 long distance truck driver who returned from Kenya through Malaba Border Post also tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health Spokesman Emmanuel Ainebyoona said that the high number of reported Coronavirus cases is due to members of the general public who have refused to adhere to standard operating procedures.
