KAMPALA– The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has called upon West Buganda Diocese Clergy to be obedient to their calling if they want to succeed in this Ministry.
The Archbishop made the remarks on April 21st 2022, during a Holy Communion service organized as part of 3 days retreat for the Diocesan Clergy and their Spouses at Brovad Hotel in Masaka City.
“The moment you accept your calling, you must accept to get out of your comfort zone because the greatest enemy to our calling is comfort. Our calling has three main tenets; Salvation, Sanctification and Service.” Archbishop Kaziimba said.
Narrating his ordeal of growing up in a polygamous family and suffering rejection at a tender age, he noted that it has only been by the sufficient grace of Jesus Christ to rise to an Archbishop and charged the Clergy to recall their call and never to forget where God picked them from for His service.
West Buganda Diocesan Bishop Henry Katumba Tamale who hosted the retreat said the three days were a great time of reflection in participants’ ministry and families.
“We were reminded to focus on our calling because God set us apart for his own service. We ought to remain humble, obedient and loyal. When God lifts you up, remain humble not to forget where God picked you from. I am inspired by 1 Timothy 1:2.” Bishop Katumba Tamale said.
According to the Communications Officer of the Province of the Church of Uganda Sadiiki Adams Mugume, the retreat was organized, facilitated and sponsored by Amiina Ministries in partnership with West Buganda Diocese.
