25 By Donald Kiirya As Ugandans were celebrating Uganda Martyrs Day on June 3, in Jinja, revellers, particularly tourism enthusiasts, flocked the Vumbula Source of the Nile Festival to enjoy life away from home. The three-day event started on July 2 and ended on Sunday, July 4. Party goers mainly from Kampala got into their vehicles and headed for Jinja at the Source of the Nile park to enjoy lots of drinks and bites, including nyama choma. Revellers mostly babes from all walks of life with curvaceous bodies enjoyed the music with their boyfriends and loved ones. Some turned up in skimpy wear to shake what their mama gave them. Various artistes performed during the three-day event. Vumbula Jinja is an expedition that brings together the tourism enthusiasts in one space to celebrate Jinja’s beauty, culture, music, heritage, and her uniqueness. The three-day event showcased the key tourism and cultural products that Jinja has to offer, baked with mind blowing live band performances from Uganda’s top musicians, deejays, cultural troupes, and lots more.
