Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo is once again proving he’s a musical juggernaut on the international stage after bagging a nomination in the 2022 Grammy Awards.
The Grammy nominees for this year were announced Tuesday night by the Recording Academy.
Kenzo, real names Ediriisa Musuuza is nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for his Gimme Love single with American R&B artiste Matt B.
He’ll be squaring off with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy with his Last Last hit, and Rocky Dawuni and Blvk H3ro (Ghana) with Neva Bow Down.
Kenzo was in 2015 nominated and won the ‘Viewer’s Choice Best New International Artist’ gong at the 2015 BET Awards
Overall this year’s Grammy Nominations were dominated by Beyoncé and Adele who have both been nominated for album of the year – Adele for her fourth album 30, and Beyoncé for her dancefloor opus Renaissance.
Beyoncé leads the pack with nine overall – including nods in the dance and R&B categories.
