By David Lumu Gayaza High School will on July 2 hold a memorial service for their former head teacher, Sheelagh Warren, who died in the United Kingdom on May 29. The current headteacher, Robinah Kizito Katongole, said Sheelagh, who was 94 at the time of her death, served as headmistress of Gayaza from 1972 to1990. “A memorial and thanksgiving service will be held at the school on Saturday, July 2, 2022, starting at 9:00am in honour of her great contribution and dedicated service to the school and the education sector in Uganda. Another celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Namirembe Cathedral starting at 3:00pm and this will be open to old girls, parents and friends of Gayaza High School. “We thank God for a life well-lived and may she rest in glory. She loved and nurtured very many girls while at the school. She was also a member of the Church Missionary Society who continued with her missionary work for Gayaza even long after she had retired,” Katongole said.
