NEWS- The Kabale Municipality town clerk Justin Barekye has warned the public against misuse of government projects/money.
Barekye made this warning during the Kabale municipal council budget conference presentation meeting at Kabale catholic social Centre Hall.
The town clerk said that this time they will not tolerate any group that will misuse government’s money because strict laws have been set against such groups.
Barekye added that in this financial year 2023/24, more money has been put in financing local government especially on schools and hospitals thus promising that the above-mentioned areas will be priotized.
She pointed out that she will work with heads of different departments to make sure that all civil servants do their work as directed by the government unlike in the past where people have been receiving payments despite not playing their roles.
Barekye also warned people to stop encroaching wetlands saying that according to President Museveni’s directive, no human activity should be carried out in wetlands promising that effective next week, they will start arresting those who have encroached wetlands.
On issues of salary increment, the town clerk assured those whose salaries were not increased during this financial year to wait as the government is looking forward to working on their enhancements.

The Kabale Municipality secretary for finance Annet Mbabazi stressed that the government has increased local revenue in this financial year 2023/2024 to extend all government services to everyone.
Mbabazi promised that as council, they will make sure that in this financial year all roads, schools and health facilities are worked upon to the best standards.
She has stressed that they will work as a team to ensure that every money does its work as budgeted thereby monitoring and supervising the government programs.
