Dr Lukman Nafiu Abiodum has been terminated by Kabale University
Kabale University has fired Dr Lukman Nafiu Abiodum, a senior lecturer of Statistics who was accused of sexually harassing his female students.
The Kabale University Secretary Johnson Baryantuma Munono earlier this week, wrote to Dr Abiodum informing him that the university appointments board had found him “guilty of sexual harassment, failure to follow examination regulations and professional negligence.”
As such, Munono said in the letter that the board directed for Dr Abiodum, a Nigerian national, to be “severely reprimanded” for his actions.
“The board further resolved not to renew your contract as senior lecturer of statistics when it expires on November 11th 2022,” wrote the secretary in the letter seen by ChimpReports.
When contacted, the Kabale University Vice Chancellor Prof. Joy Constance Kwesiga confirmed the development.
“”We have zero tolerance to sexual harassment. We are encouraging students to report such cases as soon as possible to the office of Academic registrar, Dean of students, Vice Chancellor and the communications. We shall handle it with effectiveness.” she said.
