Davis Kasirye is among players released by KCCA.
13-time Uganda Premier League champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have released seven players that have been deemed surplus to the requirement.
Among the notable departures include midfielder Yasser Mugerwa, forwards Erisa Sekisambu, Patrick Kaddu, Andrew Kigozi Samson, Davis Kasirye, winger Joseph Bukenya and right back Innocent Wafula.
Despite being the club’s top scorer with seven goals in the league last season, Kasirye has been let go after the club management declined to renew his contract.
Mugerwa and Kigozi have been released with a year valid on their employment contracts while Joseph Bukenya ran down his three-year employment contract and the club has opted not to retain him for next season.
Wafula, Kaddu and Ssekisambu also leave the Kasassiro Boys after the expiration of their short-term contracts.
According to further reports, youthful goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi, forward Brian Aheebwa and winger Julius Poloto are the other want away players that could depart Lugogo
