Jacob Akansasira, a man in his mid-30s and former head of IT at Red Pepper, has tragically passed away following a brutal attack by unknown assailants.
Known for his quiet demeanor and exceptional professionalism, Jacob was a beloved figure to many during his tenure at the media house, where he managed sensitive technological responsibilities with great skill and dedication.
Jacob left Red Pepper several years ago to pursue private ventures and had since maintained a relatively low profile.
In 2016, he married the love of his life in a beautiful ceremony at St. Andrew’s Church in Bukoto, Kampala, with a reception held at Measum Grounds in Kamwokya.
Despite the joyous occasion, Jacob kept his personal life away from public scrutiny, choosing to live quietly with his family.
However, his life took a tragic turn last week on Tuesday when he was attacked by unidentified individuals and left in a coma.
Reports indicate that after the assault, the attackers allegedly contacted Jacob’s wife, instructing her to collect him and take him to the hospital.
Jacob was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Despite efforts to save him, he passed away on Wednesday, December 11.
