Minister David Bahati represented the president at the event
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has asked Christians to develop within themselves a spirit of individual engagement and mobilization to foster their economic growth through dynamic evangelism, true revival, conversations, fellowships and devotions.
President Museveni, who was represented by the minister of state for Industry David Bahati, made the call on Saturday while officiating the launch of Life Ministry Uganda in South West Uganda and premiering the Walking With Jesus film at Ankole resort and spa in Ntungamo municipality.
President Museveni said that Christians should embrace the spirit of self-mobilization and initiation of their own projects in the country without necessarily waiting for foreign aid from missionaries.
He said that using their pulpits, Christians can be mobilized for spiritual and economical development in order to have stable and well converted citizens of Uganda.
Museveni also noted that the existence of the Church in Uganda was at its inception faced with several resistances by the then governments due to ideological disorientation hence applauding the Church for good partnership with the government which he said has helped in the economic transformation and stability of the country.
The Life ministry Uganda country director David Wataba and the chairman board of governors Pastor Joshua Mugabi said that Life ministry Uganda intends to spiritually and economically transform the marrieds and the youths through positive evangelism
They also asked the President to engage the ministry of Education and sports and ministry of gender, labor and social development to ensure the Life ministry Uganda is incorporated in their work plans for easy access to the youths in schools and institutions of higher learning for evangelism.
In his response, minister Bahati pledged to ensure that all the requests by the leaders of Life ministry Uganda are tabled before the President on Monday for consideration.
