KAMPALA– The Next Media fraternity last night bid farewell to Sheila Nduhukire who is heading for a new appointment at National Medical stores.
Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa thanked Nduhukire for being a hard working lady who loved her profession as a journalist during the time they worked with her at Next Media services.
“Finally, allow me to wish sheila Nduhukire one of our best news anchors at NBS television a very best of a career ahead as she leaves @nextmediaug today” he said.
Kariisa added that “Sheila, you undoubtedly gave @nbstv the best of your ability, and for that, we’re eternally grateful. Fly. May your new position bring you fulfilment” Kariisa added.
Sheila Nduhukire on the other hand said that she will remember her time at next media services with immense honour and gratitude.
“You were everything I hoped for and more! Thank you colleagues for a memorable send-off last night. I will miss you all very much love @nbstv“Thank you to everyone that opened doors for me and allowed me the opportunity to make mistakes, without which I would never have learnt what works/doesn’t work” Nduhukire noted.
She went on to thank Kariisa the CEO of next media for the opportunity rendered to grow her career up when she’s bidding farewell to joining her new office on 3rd May 2021.
Effective Monday 3rd May, Nduhukire will start a new phase of life and career at National medical stores Uganda as the Principal Public Relations Officer.
“I am excited for the growth and lessons ahead” Sheila said.
Remember Sheila Nduhukire emerged the best out of a stiff competition from other candidates during the highly competitive interviews conducted by the Corporation’s Board to scoop the big role.
Her strong academic background and grasp of both the media and PR functions were influential to her appointment and they hope to reap big from her at the helm of this position.
NMS, a government institution is mandated to procure, store and supply drugs and essential health supplies to public medical facilities across Uganda.She replaces Dan Kimosho, who retired last year to join politics.
Sheila Nduhukire holds two Masters degrees; one in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management from Cardiff University, UK, and another one, an MBA from ESAMI, Arusha Tanzania.
She also has been providing communication services to a range of government and private institutions in Uganda.
Sheila takes over at a time NMS is strengthening its operations including opening a state-of-the-art pharmaceuticals warehouse in Kajjansi and extending its drug supply chain beyond the district headquarters to rural-based health facilities.
NMS recently unveiled plans to install a medical oxygen plant to deal with the shortage of oxygen supply in health facilities.
