KISORO– Kisoro district has received 20 heifers from NAADS under Operation Wealth Creation program to help the farmers improve on their household incomes.
The cows were given to successful applicants from Sub counties and town councils of Kisoro district.
While handing them over to the beneficiaries, the Kisoro district Chief Administrative Officer Onzu Ismail challenged the receipients to take good care of the donated cows since the government procured them using tax payers’ money.
He asked the beneficiaries to always seek for veterinary advice and from their respective veterinary officers if they are to maintain these animals with better health.
The Kisoro district production officer, Dr. Ngabo Hebert Bubasha asked the beneficiaries to ensure proper feeding of these heifers if they must get enough produce from them.
He said that all the donated cows are expectant and warned the beneficiaries that they may end in jail should they fail to fully take care of the heifers given to them.
The Beneficiaries praised the government for honoring their request and promised to take good care of the donated heifers.
