KCCA FC have announced that eight players are excess baggage at Lugogo and have been shown the exit door.
In a statement released on Wednesday evening, the club announced that Yasser Mugerwa, Gift Ali, Erisa Ssekisambu, Patrick Kaddu, Joseph Bukenya, Andrew Kigozi, Kasirye Davis and Innocent Wafula will not be part of their set up next season.
The club stated that whereas some of the players’ contracts were mutually terminated, others had expired at the end of the season and the club had opted not to renew them, whereas for others, extension options had not been triggered.
The players
Among those released is forward Patrick Kaddu who returned to the club in February as a free agent who put pen to paper on a six months contract.
He has however failed to reciprocate the earlier form during his first stint at the club that saw him score 32 goals in 64 outings for the Lugogo side and attracted suitors in form of Moroccan side RS Berkane that bought him in 2019.
His return has not accrued any fruits for the Kasasiro boys.
Others are Gift Ali who a few years back was a pillar for the team, especially during the times of Mike Mutebi.
However, injuries have seen the midfielder miss most of last season under Morley Byekwaso at KCCA FC prompting the club to part ways with him.
The club has also parted ways with the club’s joint top scorer for last season, Davis Kasirye whose contract the Kasasiro boys have not renewed.
The club also announced they had mutually terminated the contract for Yasser Mugerwa who was last season signed for two years.
“The club would like to thank the players for the memories over the years that they selflessly served and everyone at the club wishes them the very best for the future,” KCCA FC said in a statement.
Having had a torrid period for the last three years where they have not won any trophy, KCCA FC seeks to turn fortunes around at Lugogo.
The club recently signed midfielder, Moses Waiswa on a two year deal.
