RUKIGA– The Police in Rwempisi village, Bulime parish, Rwamucucu Rukiga district have destroyed two gardens of marijuana and arrested two suspects for planting of marijuana plants.
The suspects are Nicholas Tukundane and Moses Muhwezi. The Rukiga district police commander Patrick Ismat told our reporter that they carried out an operation following a tip off from a concerned resident who reported to police.
Ismat said that 30 marijuana plants were discovered from a sorghum garden and others from behind a pig sty.
The Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate confirmed the incident and condemned the act of planting un authorized drugs.
Maate added that operations to establish all illegal growers of marijuana are ongoing in the entire region. He now cautions all people against all activities associated with marijuana.
