President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda
KAMPALA– President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lifted the suspension on the Democratic Governance Facility, a consortium of donor for good governance programs in Uganda.
President Museveni announced this on Wednesday during a meeting with investors from Denmark who expressed interest to invest in Uganda at State House Entebbe.
The President said that Democratic Governance Facility whose activities were suspended last year, will resume operations on a condition that Government is represented in its decision-making structures.
His decision came from an appeal by Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Hon Flemming Miller Mortensen and the Danish Ambassador Nicolaj Hejberg Petersen who said that the project has only 6 months left to elapse.
After answering their prayer, President Museveni then asked them to come and invest in Uganda assuring them of the available markets of Uganda, East African, Africa, US and China, among others saying that there is great market potential to purchase their products.
Hon Mortensen told the President that Denmark will establish new programs in Uganda in the areas of Human rights, Civic Education and Accountability and said that Denmark has a lot of focus on the relationship with Uganda.
The Minister said that Denmark will be a good partner to Uganda and that they will continue to support development projects in Uganda for better life.
