NEWS– President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this evening returned from Nairobi, Kenya, where he joined other East African Heads-Of-State to discuss regional issues and matters connected to security.
The one day Nairobi meeting was also attended by regional security chiefs and the focus was on the deteriorating security situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
The President was received on arrival at Entebbe International Airport by the Vice President, Maj Jessica Alupo, the Minister for the Presidency Hon Milly Babirye Babalanda, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet Ms Lucy Nakyobe, the Commander of the Airforce Lt Gen Charles Lutaya, the Chief of Staff of the Uganda Police Force Maj Gen Abel Kandiho and the Assistant Commissioner General of the Uganda Prisons Service Samuel Akena.
The President had earlier todat morning left the country for the Kenyan Capital, Nairobi where he, along with other Great Lakes Regional Heads of State, discussed a wide range of topics, key among which included the current delicate security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
President Museveni, whi is a key advocate of African Integration, has often looted for concerted efforts by the African States in handling African problems, including security, and social-economic transformation.
