Prison warder kills girlfriend, turns gun on himself – edge.ug

A Prison warder ha shot dead his girlfriend and turned the gun on himself at Uganda Prison Kakiika in Mbarara district.
Frank Baine, the Spokesperson for Uganda Prison Services, identified the Warder as NO. 19015 WDR Chemutai Aloysius, 28.
He shot dead NO. 19109 wardress Adong Margadalen, 24, of Prisons Academy and Training School, Luzira.
The incident happened on Monday 13 while Chemutai was deployed on sentry at the South East perimeter Fence of the Prison.
“It’s believed that Wdrss Adong of PATS was a girlfriend and had visited him since Saturday. The sound of the Gun raised the concern of the O.C and staff to mount an operation that led to the discovery of the bodies and the gun.”
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
