RUKIGA- Management, staff and well-wishers of Rukiga SACCO on Saturday 18th June 2022 gathered at Summit Safaris Hotel in Muhanga town council, Rukiga district to bid farewell to the outgoing Rukiga SACCO general manager Abaho John Bosco aka JB.
Abaho has been the Rukiga SACCO general manager for 10 years since he started serving in this capacity from 2012.
During the same accession, the Rukiga SACCO Board members led by Rev Fr Gaetano Batanyenda and the staff members led by the incoming General Manager Ms. Kabajurizi Medias took Oath in presence of lawyers from Biitwenda and company advocates.
Rev Fr Gaetano Batanyenda together with the Rukiga SACCO Board members thanked Abaho for spearheading the SACCO to greater heights and used this opportunity to call upon him to remain with them even while pursuing other duties elsewhere.

In her words, the incoming General Manager Ms. Kabajurizi Medius described Mr. Abaho as someone who was so hard working and always towards achieving positive results. Kabajurizi on behalf of the staff pledged to start from what is already in place as they aim at seeing their SACCO developing.

She also told our reporter that the strategic plan of the SACCO in every 2 years has always been to open up a new branch stressing that for 2022, they already has in plan to open it in Rukungiri on 1st August.

The Outgoing Rukiga SACCO general manager Abaho told our reporter that that the 10 years and 6 months of his tenure saw him achieve a lot like the membership growing from 5,148 to 25,916.
With joy and happiness, Mr. Abaho said that he has left the SACCO with Ugx 18.8 billion without any external Loan from Ugx 1.1 Billion which they had when he took on the mantle.

Speaking on behalf of customers and the well-wishers Michael Seed, a business tycoon operating in Kabale town who doubles as the chairman clearing and forwarding Association Western Region applauded Mr. JB for investing a lot of tactics in convincing people to join the SACCO citing an experience of how himself joined.
“He came to me and started convincing me to join Rukiga SACCO of which I denied but when I knew that the then Parish priest of Kitanga Parish Rev Fr Gaetano Batanyenda was the Chairman Board, I got convinced that SACCO is on a right truck having people of God” Mr. Seed said.
He urged him to keep advising the new SACCO management and to also become an ambassador of this institution wherever he will be moving to.

Eng. Charles Katambira and Nicholas of Nicholas international limited some of whom save with Rukiga SACCO thanked the outgoing Manager for creating a platform that welcomes everybody to join the SACCO.
Rukiga SACCO which started in 2002 so far has 7 operating branches that include; Muhanga (the headquarter), Kabale, Kisiizi, Kashambya, Nyaruziba, Rwamucucu, and Kamwezi with 62 staff members.
