NEWS– Rukungiri based disc jockey (DJ) Edger Tushabe commonly knows as “Dj Eddie pro the party specialist” on Tuesday night narrowly survived death as assailants attacked him on his way back home.
DJ Eddie works with Rukungiri Municipality based 91.8 Boona FM radio station. He told this reporter that he was attacked at around 8:45pm as he walked to town from Katerera, an outskirt in Southern Division Rukungiri Municipality.
Tushabe adds that the assailants who were four in number first exchanged blows when he realized that they their intentions were ill.
After realizing that the battle had become harder than they thought, the assailants cut his back with a sharp panga which left him nursing severe back injuries.
“Hello team😭this evening around 8:40pm on my way from Katerera. Nabugana a certain group of 4 guys abuntamanya they had two pangas, they asked for money i tried my best as a man at the end they cut me at the back as u can see😭😭am at Rutahigwa’s Clinic😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻” DJ Eddie wrote on his social media platforms.
He was immediately rushed to Rujumbura Medicare Services for medical attention before he was later discharged to nurse the wounds at his home.
Katerera area has become a hotspot of assailants attacking people, snatching smart phones and money in evening hours.
The community now wants authorities to think about more deployments in the area as well as the Rukungiri Municipality Leadership to add more security lights in the area and around the Rukungiri main stadium to curb down the vice.
