NTUNGAMO- The chief executive director of Uganda Cooperative Saving and Credit Union Limited Dr Ndiroramukama Sylvester has urged savings and credit cooperative organizations (SACCOs) across the country to embrace technology in banking in order to harness digitalization of SACCO banking.
Dr Ndiroramukama noted that the use of technology in the day today activities such as the Core banking system will improve performance and ease accountability and SACCO meetings amidst COVID-19 pandemic.
He made remarks on Friday during the Uganda Cooperative Saving and Credit Union Limited (UCSCU) regional Sacco workshop on optimization of Sacco growth through performance management at Ntungamo Resort hotel in Ntungamo Municipality which attracted SACCO managers and Board members from Kigezi and Ntungamo districts.
Dr Ndiroramukama asked the SACCO managers and Board members to invest in talent and performance management if they are to develop.

The Ntungamo district Assistant commercial officer Aryanyijuka Ezra advised members of SACCO to practice the culture of saving as the only way to eradicate poverty in the household.
Aryanyijuka takes them to increase the membership in order to realize the sporadic development and sustainability.

The finance officer at Uganda Cooperative Saving and Credit Union Limited Benon Musinguzi implored the managers and board members of the SACCOs to understand the dynamics of the financial institutions , explaining that poor leadership and intrigue may cause collapse of such SACCOs.

One of the participants, the branch manager Kajara SACCO Omukiyenje Rukungiri Niwashaba Denick challenged managers and board members to cooperate and practice what has been taught for the betterment of their SACCOs.
