SHEEMA- Twekorere sand mining Association Operating in Sheema district have staged a protest against the locals for interrupting with their work rendering them to losses amounting to over Ugx 700 million.
Twekorere sand mining is an association Registered under the CBO and Development Groups by Sheema Municipal Council which employees a number people from within and beyond Sheema district.
The protest follows the ban of Sino Moto trucks that belonged to Twekorere sand mining Association group for the last 28 days, from being driven in Roads within Kiziba-Byotsya ward in Kagango division, Sheema Municipality.
Locals and leaders who got concerned on the state of Roads destroyed by these trucks demanded for the stopping of these trucks from operating in their area Roads.
Kabandize John, one of the workers in the association and a parent told our reporter that his children no longer have what to eat, drink and even school fees thus unable to fend for their families.

Tumuhimbise Deus and Mutatina Dickens the association leaders call for government intervention so that they can recover their lost money as well as rectifying their grievances.
They also say that they are making losses in many other ways like paying security personals in their Mining centers, rent, taxes and among others in the last 28 days.
Leaders have called on the Association members to immediately start reporting for their daily duties respectively.
