SHEEMA- Christians at Oburama church of Uganda in Kihunda parish, Kabwohe archdeaconry in West Ankore Diocese are shocked after their lay reader (Omuburuzi) is alleged to have defiled a 16 years old girl in the church’s house.
It’s alleged Elimonsi Mubangira, 60 a resident of Nyakambu in Sheema North constituency committed the offence on December 24th 2020 while others were preparing for the birth of Jesus Christ.
Talking to the victim at her parents’ home in Kihunda ward, she said that “while I was coming from the garden, he called me and I refused to go there, he was coming from the church, I stopped and when he reached me”.
The victim adds that the lay reader pulled her as if he wanted to give her something but later pulled her into the church house and forced her to the bedroom.
“He pulled me to the bedroom and gave me a soda which I refused; he later forcefully pulled out my nicker and slept on me. I was saved by a certain man who was passing by and heard me crying” the victim.
However, the parents of the victim led by her father Mpamizo Geoffrey accuse the Kihunda police station OC afande Benon Mugyenyi of freeing the suspect yet their daughter is suffering.
Information Obtained by this Online Publication indicates that Elimonsi was released from prison by Kihunda OC station although the case that’s alleged against him isn’t worth to be heard in Kihunda police post.
Afande Benon Mugyenyi OC Kihunda police post told us that he was pressurized by Kihunda church of Uganda Priest Rev Rodgers Mugabe to release his fellow evangelist.
“Rev Rodgers came here telling me not to ashame the church of Uganda, he later gave in 165,000 to the mother of the child to keep silent about the matter and I accepted their request to release the man of God” he asserted.
“He is nowhere to be seen, but we are trying our level best to re arrest him and charged cases of defilement on file case number SD REF 06 /24 /12/2020″ Mugyenyi added.
We tried to contact Elimonsi Mubangira but all his known contacts were off.
We reached at Oburama church of Uganda and we found the sheep of God confused, however the head of laity Perezi Kakyanga told us that he will be serving in the acting capacity until the authorities replace Elimonsi who is nowhere to be seen.
Jennifer Barimu the mother’s union leader condemned the act saying that if the allegations are true, God should forgive Elimonsi.
