Singer Sheebah Karungi is excited having reached the one million mark followers on Instagram.
“Let’s toast to one million Sheebaholics on Instagram,” said the energetic diva on Friday morning.
The ‘Beera Nange’ songstress said in social media messages that she is truly grateful, having become one of the first female artist in Uganda to scoop 1 million followers on Instagram.
“First female artist in Uganda to make 1m followers on Instagram, I’m truly grateful for my journey! Thank you my lovers, let’s keep breaking records,” she posted.
Instagram was started in San Francisco by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, who initially tried creating a platform similar to Foursquare but then turned their attention exclusively to photo sharing.
The platform allows one to apply different types of photo filters to their pictures with a single click and then share them with others. However, while it is a rather basic service, Instagram’s simplicity has helped it gain widespread popularity.
However, by the time of this publication, an hour from her last post, Sheebah’s Instagram account indicated 999K followers. It remains to be seen if some people actually unfollowed her in an hour or it was a rounded off figure notification.
