The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) electoral body has set June 28 as the new date for the elections.
This follows a recent halting of the election exercise on 6th June 2022 due to technical challenges.
Geoffrey Ekongot, the Chairman UMA Electoral Commission, said the UMA Policy Board set June 28 for the general elections.
The Policy Board also resolved that the elections be held by secret ballot and that the elections shall be carried out at one polling center in Kampala for proper supervision.
“The Uganda Musicians’ Association Electoral Committee is thus preparing fresh polls scheduled for the 28th of June 2022 at the National Theatre Gardens,” Ekongot said.
He added: “This was decided to organize the polls in the next two weeks so that the association does not continue any longer without leadership.”
