RUKUNGIRI– When we talk about rampant animal theft, everyone thinks it skyrockets during Christmas and Easter festivities however in the current era it’s not the case as the habit has continued to rise even after the festivities.
As we speak, all is not well in Rusoroza cell, Nyakinengo Parish, Nyakagyeme Sub-county in Rukungiri district following the increase in animal theft cases in the area.
In the night of 24th April 2022, Rev. Stanley Natukunda of St. Peter’s Nyakinengo COU under Kasoroza Archdiconary located in the above address fell victim of the thieves.
According to Rev. Natukunda, unknown thugs who raided his premises at around 2:40am, took off with his 2 goats, 8 hens and as if that wasn’t enough they cut the third goat at the neck leaving it dead.
Rev Natukunda told our reporter that he had already reported the issue to the area Local Council one chairperson’s office and the search to establish the whereabouts of the thugs and the missing animals was ongoing.
The man of God (Rev. Natukunda) who stressed that these thugs are “Satan driven” prayed to God to forgive them so that they can see the light and salvation of the lord.
By the time of filing this report, the search for the whereabouts of the thieves and the animals had not yielded any positive results.
