FDC presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat has been arrested in Kitgum District following a standoff with police.
Police wanted Amuriat to go to Lamwo because President Museveni is also campaigning in Kitgum town.
Police lobbied teargas to disperse Amuriat’s entourage.
Amuriat was driven at breakneck speed through Kitgum Municipality in a bid to avoid his entourage and supporters from disrupting President, Yoweri Museveni’s campaign in Kitgum Municipality.
Museveni is campaigning at Boma Grounds in Kitgum where he will meet leaders of Agago, Amuru, Gulu, Kitgum , Lamwo, Nwoya, Omoro, and Pader as he looks for votes.
Amuriat had managed to address mini rallies at Kitgum Matid and Lagolo S/C as per the program that was submitted to the Electoral Commission amidst Police and Army interruption.
