For months now, rumors have been swirling that Ragga Dee embezzled money that was meant for artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.The Legendary singer has come out for the first time to deny the allegations that he kept the said money. He instead clarified that the money was given to the wrong people, a reason the artists have not received a single penny.As the President of Uganda National Forum, the singer says they asked for 47Bn for writers, singers, instrumentalists, producers, deejays, and other stakeholders. The money was approved by the President but couldn’t be passed because the Ministry of Finance had not budgeted for it. Ragga Dee emphasized that instead, the Ministry availed Shs 1.2Bn and transferred it to Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) before it was distributed to music promoters. According to Ragga Dee, he has been trying to reach out to UNCC but he hasn’t been successful.
