Leone Island singing doctor Jose Chameleone has lost the National Unity Platform (NUP) party flag to run for Kampala Lord Mayor.
According to reports, Chameleone lost out owing to his academic documents.
The party flag was instead given to Kawempe North Member of Parliament Latif Ssebagala during vetting that took place last week.
NUP’s electoral commission found that Chameleone’s A-level documents were not clear yet he could not produce his O level qualifications.
NUP later clarified on why Chameleone was denied the party flag in his bid for Kampala Lord Mayor, in the coming elections.
According to party spokesman, Joel Ssenyonyi says the party committee made a wide-ranging assessment on who should be the NUP candidate for the position, between Joseph Mayanja and Latif Ssebaggala.
