The Ministry of Health has on Monday confirmed 247 new COVID-19 cases in Uganda bringing the cumulative total number of confirmed infections to 7,777.
2 new Covid-19 deaths have also been registered in Kampala.
The new cases include 224 contacts and alerts and 23 returnees.
“Results from COVID-19 tests done on 27th September 2020; 247 new COVID-19 cases confirmed. The cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 7,777,” the Health Ministry announced.
The cases include; 116 from Kampala, 17 from Luwero, 9 from Iganga, 8 from Gulu, 7 from Agago, 7 from Moyo, 5 from Wakiso, 4 from Busia, 3 from Hoima, 6 from Jinja, 4 from Masaka, 3 from Mayuge, 4 from Mbale, 3 from Arua, 2 from Budaka, 2 from Bulambuli, 1 from Kaliro, 2 from Kannungu, 2 from Kisoro, 2 from Kiryadongo, 2 from Kumi, 2 from Mukono, 2 from Pallisa, 1 from Buikwe, 1 from Bundibugyo, 1 from Bunyangabu, 1 from Buvima, 1 from Kyotera, 1 from 1 from Lira, 1 from Moroto, 1 from Nebbi, 1 from Ntungamo, 1 from Tororo and 1 from Zombo.
Of the 23 returnees who tested positive for COVID-19, 18 were from Saudi Arabia, 4 from India and 1 from South Sudan.
Currently, Uganda has a cumulative total of 7,777 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 4,033 recoveries and 75 fatalities.
