Uganda Premier League outfit Mbarara City Football Club is reportedly in advanced talks with robust goalkeeper Martin Elungat.
ChimpReports understands that the Ankole Lions have been in negotiations with the former for a couple of weeks making him their main target in this transfer.
Elungat has previously featured for several local clubs in Fire Masters, Sports Club Villa and Express Football Club.
Across boarders, the goalkeeper played for Kenya Premier League side Morohoni Youth, Thika United and most recently Zoo Kericho, and is expected to be understudy for Muhammad Ssekkeba in case this deal goes through.
The Ankole Lions have so far landed Ronald Edwok and winger Godfrey Kalungi from Light SS while Striker Bashir Mutanda joined as a free agent. The squad has also been boosted by the return of midfielder Farouk Samali from his loan spell at FUFA Big League club Kigezi Home Boyz FC.
The club has also renewed contracts for midfielder Pistis Barenge, forward Jude Ssemugabi, Steven Othieno, goalkeeper Ssekeba and defender Soulymane Bamba.
Last season, Mbarara City finished in the 7th position with 36 points from 25 matches before the league was cut short because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
