Former Sports Club Villa striker Bashir Mutanda has officially been unveiled at another Uganda Premier League outfit in Mbarara City Football Club.
Mutanda has been “scientifically” unveiled at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo by the Club president Mwine Mpaka alongside other club officials.
The robust forward has penned a two-year deal with the Ankole Lions and will don the white Jersey until 2021/2022 season.

He joined the Jogoos in 2018 from UPL defending Champions Vipers Sports Club and helped the club finish 3rd with 46 points from 25 matches last season. He also played for Busoga United before the Vipers switch.
Initially, Mutanda was linked to a number of clubs including the Venoms, URA FC, Kyetume and others outside the country the Mbarara side.
He becomes Mbarara City’s fourth signing in this transfer window joining Ramathan Kareem, Ronald Edwok and Godfrey Kalungi who were unveiled by the Kakyeka based club a few weeks ago.
The club has also renewed contracts for defender Soulymane Bamba, midfielder Swalik Bebe Segujja, forward Jude Ssemugabi, Steven Othieno, Pistis Barenge and goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba.
He (Mutanda) is expected to fill the void left by striker Brian Aheebwa who joined KCCA FC. The Ankole Lions also lost midfielder Ibrahim Orit who moved on to Vipers.
Mbarara City FC finished seventh on the Uganda Premier League table last season with 36 points from 25 games played as the league was abruptly ended due to the pandemic.
