Zebra Sennyange during a professional bout
The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) is mourning the death of ‘one of their own’ Zebra Isaac Ssenyange who was shot dead on Wednesday morning.
“Some truth in life are hard to accept. Your memories will never be forgotten! Those will always remain with us forever. R.I.P,” the UBF posted on twitter after news of Zebra’s demise trickled in early this morning.
Sennyange commonly known as “Mando”, met his death in the wee hours of Wednesday morning when yet to be identified gunmen murdered him in cold blood in the watch of the wife Mercy Mukankusi and their only son Isaac Sennyange Junior in Bwaise.
ChimpReports understands that the murder happened around 1am in Bwaise and according to his son Ssenyange Junior, unknown gunmen donning masks forced their way into the house and shot him dead.
Ssenyange served as a former national team captain and was best remembered for having led the Bombers to the 10th All Africa Games hosted in Maputo city, Mozambique in 2011.
“Mando” has been employed by the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) in-charge of general duties and also doubled as the Bombers Coach adding to his managerial role at his own Zebra Boxing Club.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem as the hunt for the assailants is ongoing.
