Media personality and socialite Sheilah Gashumba has called for the normalisation of public displays of affection (PDA) in Uganda.
Uganda is widely regarded as a culturally and morally conservative society, where romantic gestures are often expected to remain private. However, Sheilah believes attitudes toward affection in public spaces should change.

Taking to her Snapchat, Sheilah expressed frustration with how people react when couples show affection in public.
PDA (public display of affection) should be normalised in Africa, mostly Uganda. People look at you like you’re a mad person.

Sheilah has previously been involved in several high-profile relationships and has never shied away from expressing affection publicly. Her most recent relationship was with singer Rickman Manrick.
During their time together, the two often appeared comfortable showing affection in public, whether through hugs, kisses, or cozy moments shared during events and outings.
