The process of appointing administrators to manage the estate of the late Muhammad Ssegirinya is nearing completion, with a swearing-in ceremony expected soon.
According to information obtained, one of the outspoken widows, Mariam Nakabuye, has provided insight into how the legal process has unfolded.
Nakabuye expressed appreciation to the estate administrator for issuing a certificate of objection that recognized the mothers of the late legislator’s children as the rightful administrators of his estate.
Speaking about the development, she said the move was a significant step toward protecting the interests of Ssegirinya’s children.
“I thank the administrator for doing a job well done, for truthfully justifying the certificate of objection that was presented to us. The estate of the orphans was marred with many brokers who had taken on owning the property of the late without his children benefiting from it,” she said.
Nakabuye further revealed that the widows who passed DNA verification tests have been selected to administer the estate.
According to her, the late politician left behind four children with four different mothers.
“With the document shared, the administrators who are going to run the late’s estate are his widows who successfully passed the DNA tests. The late left four children and four mothers. We are only waiting for the judge to swear us in because the process is nearing the end,” she added.
She also disclosed that there had initially been disagreements over who should manage the estate.
At first, Ssegirinya’s mother reportedly selected four administrators from her own circle, a decision that raised concerns among the widows.
Nakabuye said she and the other widows requested that the administrators include both representatives from the late politician’s family and the widows, but the proposal was reportedly declined.
Eventually, the process resulted in a list of four widows who are expected to take over the administration of the estate.
The administrators set to manage the late MP’s estate are Fatuma Nanfuma, Mariam Nabukenya, Shamim Namutebi, and Esther Namugalu, all mother’s to late Ssegirinya’s children.
The court is now expected to formally swear in the administrators, marking the final step in the process of legally managing the late legislator’s estate.
