Ugandan musician Alien Skin and members of his Fangone Forest crew were on Friday briefly detained by military police in Wankulukuku before being released hours later.
The group was reportedly intercepted near Wankulukuku Stadium hours after a performance at Kitebi Secondary School and later held at Nateete Police Station.

Authorities had not issued an official statement by press time regarding the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
However, the detention comes amid circulating claims linking the incident to a recent video in which members of the group were allegedly seen forcing soldiers to salute, as well as the crew’s history of controversy.
The detention adds to a growing list of run-ins between the singer’s camp and law enforcement, including past arrests and controversies that have kept the group in the public spotlight.
However, the situation was short-lived. The musician and his crew were released just hours later following reported intervention by Commissioner Hellen Seku.

Alien Skin and his crew were subsequently freed from custody in Wankulukuku.
