According to reports, the Queen Mother was allegedly blocked from proceeding with the burial of her son in the manner she believed was prescribed by Tooro culture and tradition.

In the tense incident, she was reportedly locked inside a vehicle as the casket was forcibly removed from the car and taken towards the royal tombs.

It is further reported that Gen. David Sejusa Tumukunde, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and security officials attempted to engage the Queen Mother and persuade her to allow the burial to proceed.

However, according to the reports, she remained opposed to the arrangements, insisting on burying her son in accordance with what she considers the proper traditional and cultural practices of the Tooro Kingdom.

The standoff has added another dramatic chapter to an already deeply contested succession and burial process following the death of the 34-year-old monarch.

As of the latest reports, the body of the late King Oyo has since been taken inside the royal tombs, while details surrounding the incident continue to emerge.

The developments were reported by Daily Monitor journalists Andrew Bagala and Canary Mugume as the situation remained fluid.

More details are expected as the burial proceedings and the unfolding Tooro Kingdom saga continue.
