Miles Rwamiti Explains Kid Fox’s Controversial Comeback Strategy

After 14 years in Japan, Kid Fox is back in Uganda, and his comeback has already put him back in the headlines.

The veteran ragga singer recently answered “no” when asked whether he knows several prominent musicians, including musician-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known by his stage name, “Bobi Wine.”

The answers have attracted attention, but media personality and journalist Miles Rwamiti believes people should not read them as attacks.

Speaking on Vvawo Mpitewo, Rwamiti said Kid Fox is simply finding a way to get people talking about him again.

What Kid Fox is doing is very normal. It is healthy. It is an everyday thing.

Rwamiti points to Kid Fox’s long stay away from Uganda as part of the explanation. Some of the musicians he was asked about became prominent after he left, so he may genuinely not know them.

The Bobi Wine question, though, gets a different reading from Rwamiti.

He believes Kid Fox understood that his answer would attract media attention and bring more focus to his comeback.

But in the case of Kyagulanyi, he did not attack him. Rather, he mentioned him because he knew the media would talk about it and, in the process, talk about him.
