Speed Darlington has challenged Burna Boy to a boxing match, boldly insisting the Grammy-winning singer would not beat him in the ring.
The “Akpi” crooner made the challenge during a recent interview with Hip TV, promising to put up a huge amount of money if Burna Boy accepts.
I challenge Burna Boy to fight me. I will drop a huge sum just to fight him. I want to fight him. I will beat him.
Darlington then dismissed Burna Boy’s popularity, arguing that being a successful musician does not make him a better fighter.
He’s all hype. He cannot beat me. Just because some people like his music does not mean he can beat me. I am challenging him.
The challenge comes after Darlington’s boxing match against fellow Nigerian singer Portable in April, which Portable won.
Portable later claimed that Burna Boy gave him ₦20 million (roughly UGX 59 million) after the fight because he had defeated Darlington, who had been trolling Burna Boy.
Portable also claimed that Burna Boy gave him the money specifically because Darlington had accused the Grammy winner of having an illicit relationship with embattled American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs in exchange for his Grammy award.
Burna Boy has not publicly confirmed Portable’s claim.
Now, Darlington wants to take his feud with Burna Boy into the ring himself.
