Nalongo Lewis has challenged men to speak openly about painful relationships instead of attacking women who choose to share their own experiences.
The influencer and content creator made the remarks at the recently concluded “Beauty Beyond The Scars” conference organised by Bad Black, where her comments drew criticism online.
Some social media users accused Lewis of encouraging women to mistreat men through her speech.

Lewis rejected that interpretation, saying she was speaking from her own experiences as a single mother and the challenges she faced in past relationships.
She also acknowledged that men can suffer in relationships with abusive or toxic women.
Rather than keeping those experiences private, Lewis wants men to speak about them just as openly as women do.
We know men go through a lot because there are some bad females too, but can you come out and speak about them as we speak about our experiences too?
Lewis argued that women sharing their relationship experiences does not automatically amount to attacking men or encouraging women to leave their marriages.
For her, men telling their own stories would give relationship conversations a more balanced perspective.
