Ugandan TikToker Timothy Kayanja, better known as Jayden, has died after a prolonged battle with complications related to sickle cell disease.
Jayden’s death was announced Tuesday morning by fellow TikToker Sheilah Price, with people close to him later confirming the reports.
His health journey had attracted widespread attention in recent months, with fellow content creators, friends and well-wishers rallying financial support to help him access treatment.
Jayden travelled to India for a bone marrow transplant and was reported in July to have successfully undergone the procedure. At the time, reports indicated that he was recuperating following the transplant.
His recovery, however, was later complicated by a deterioration in his condition. He was reportedly admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), prompting renewed concern among his followers and friends.
Media personality Kasuku was among those who shared updates on Jayden’s health as his condition worsened.
Despite the medical intervention and support from those around him, Jayden has died, sparking an outpouring of grief from his family, friends, fellow TikTokers and fans.
His death comes after months in which the online community had closely followed his treatment journey and rallied behind efforts to save his life.
